Tools I like!

Inspired by a post aloe made on zir blog about tools, I wanted a place to shoutout come of the Cool Tools I use in my own life.

AutoSite

The software I'm writing this in! Cannot possibly heap enough praise on the user design here. Does the one thing I need it to do and does it very well. That is, it takes markdown, a couple of HTML templates, and generates a static site via what amounts to a glorified copy-paste, and does so with aplomb.

Geany

The ubiquitous nature of VS Code overshadowing this hidden gem of a code editor might never cease to amaze me. Love this for a lot of the same reasons as AutoSite. Lightweight and spartan while still being pleasant to use. Getting it set up is as easy as just picking your syntax highlighting, setting the commands you want to use for build and debug, and you're good to go. Mwah, mwah. She's perfect!

Flaking the line

Not a piece of software, or at least not for computers. Rather, it's a piece of software for your hands to wrap cables with! If you have headphone cables or any other kind of cable you don't want to end up a tangled mess when you go to unwrap it again, use this technique! It's a little thing that will add up to saving you a lot of headache over the years.
