Today was my first day doing beverage by myself at work! I was pretty on edge the whole way through but by the end I feel like I was getting the hang of it. The M.O.D. told me I did good. The shift lead told me I did good. My regular who's a line cook said I did good. You would think with a consensus like this, I could maybe banish the idea that they were just saying that to be nice. Oh, yeah, even my coworker who was off the clock came in and said I did good! Gabi's a sweetheart. So maybe I didn't fumble it too hard.
Well, beyond that, there's the matter of the upcoming trip to minneapolis. I was hoping my replacement credit card would've gotten here sometime in the last business week, so I could knock out shopping for the trip tomorrow and Tuesday. The week of the trip, I'm working all 3 days prior to my redeye flight on Friday morning. I get out at, if I'm lucky, 10 PM on Thursday! Oh, and I'm all but guaranteed to be in beverage so. oof. and thursdays are known to be pretty fucked. OK, well, more immediate problems.
I got some very good travel advice from Axe (I'm a novice at this) and I might splurge a bit on. sigh. a different jansport backpack than the one I have now. It's got a water bottle pocket!! Axe emphasized that I should travel as light as possible. But yeah, on the matter of outfits. Blagh. Tomorrow problem! I love canned soup.
a;galkdg regardless of whether or not i have the ability to buy anything, i do need to make a full list of stuff i intend to buy. maybe catch the budget up to where i am too. or god forbid, relax a little on my day off.
Oh, fuck! I almost forgot about karamazov posting! Yeah, so I finished part I, ending with One More Ruined Reputation. I didn't think there was even another one left to ruin, but so there was! God knows I've come to despise Ivan. Anyways, Alyosha received a love letter! This is just the kind of thing I live for. At the end of the day, is even the most cherubic of the Karamazovs still a Karamazov? Given the length of the book, it seems like the cast could get out of hand pretty quick, but I feel like the author devotes enough time to giving each character an evocative introduction that they're all fairly memorable. There's also a Secret Karamazov running around? I wonder how it'll all turn out!
